Lower Campus is the home of GIS and marine studies at the University of the South Pacific. The campus is situated approximately 700m away from its parent body (Laucala Campus). Lower campus boasts a wide range of facilities that includes Lecture theater, cafeteria, labs, lodges and other surrounding facilities.
One of the main highlights of lower campus is its energy efficient labs which uses the 45 KW solar panels to generate energy for the flying lab. This is one of the initiatives of USP to become energy efficient and lower campus has demonstrated the best practice to uphold the initiative.
The lodges that are contained within the lower campus boundary serves as a home for many lecturers and other outer island students. Its a great place to stay and complete your studies here at The University of the South Pacific lodges with a nice drop of sea view and sunset in the background to enjoy every afternoon. The MARINE LODGE is located at the lower campus right beside the sea and the Suva Point beach park and 10 minutes walk to the Sports City Complex and Damodar City Centre, several shops, supermarkets and the Upper Campus. The rooms are ensuite with the option of a double or single bed.
Also when you need a break to refuel yourself, you can always drop by at Sea-point Breeze Store which is a cafeteria just situated opposite the marine lecture theater. The friendly staff will always be happy to pen down your orders and serve you accordingly.
The marine lecture theater is the only lecture theater that is in lower campus. The lecture theatre has hosted some of the biggest pacific GIS and climatic meetings.
